The New Canaan YMCA in Connecticut enhanced its position as a premier community fitness destination in 2017 with a sophisticated dual-pool complex totaling over 5,100 square feet. Designed in collaboration with Water Technology, Inc., this facility features a 3,879 square foot competition pool for serious swimmers and athletes alongside a 1,263 square foot leisure pool dedicated to families, young children, and therapeutic programming—ensuring that every member finds their ideal aquatic experience.
The two-pool approach allows the YMCA to simultaneously host competitive swim team practices, adult lap swimming, and water fitness classes in the competition pool while families enjoy uninterrupted leisure time in a separate, age-appropriate environment. Main Line Commercial Pools brought extensive Connecticut YMCA experience to this project, understanding the operational dynamics and member expectations that define successful facilities in affluent communities where fitness options are abundant. The result is an aquatic center that strengthens New Canaan YMCA’s competitive position, supports the organization’s youth development and healthy living mission, and provides a compelling reason for families to choose YMCA membership over boutique fitness alternatives throughout Fairfield County.
