The Greater Philadelphia YMCA’s Upper Perkiomen Valley facility in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania created a comprehensive year-round aquatic destination in 2015 with over 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor pool space. Designed by Integrated Aquatics Engineering Inc., this ambitious complex features mirrored indoor and outdoor lap pools (3,411 square feet each), expansive activity areas for families and children, and an indoor spa—ensuring that members enjoy full aquatic programming regardless of season or weather.
The indoor-outdoor design philosophy reflects the YMCA’s commitment to serving the entire community throughout the year, with indoor facilities supporting winter swim teams, learn-to-swim programs, and fitness classes, while outdoor pools provide summer camp activities and seasonal recreation. Main Line Commercial Pools coordinated the technical complexity of dual pool systems, ensuring consistent water quality standards and operational efficiency across both environments while managing the seasonal transitions that define Pennsylvania YMCA operations.
